Legends speak of a legendary tree, reaching into the sky and as tall as a mountain, standing as a focal point between universes. 

They say that if you can navigate the dimensional rifts woven throughout different worlds, you can find a portal to the core of the tree, where a grand treasure lies. You've gained knowledge that may help; near the opening of the rifts, three magical crystals will appear, and collecting and channeling them can help you focus and direct these dimensional rifts to help you to your goal. 

Take on an assortment of enemies as you delve into these new worlds, and take their souls to channel magic to slay your foes. There will be many fearsome enemies, but your potential to grow is also limitless. Channel mana at shrines to upgrade yourself for every run-through. Even in defeat, you can still grow stronger.

Future Plans

Created in 8 weeks for a video game development class, there's still plenty of room to grow. We would love to try and implement more of the gameplay aspects that were brainstormed initially in the semester.

 Proper randomization of level tile sets, more enemy types, more spells, more complex boss fights, more playable character, and more upgrades to spend your mana on are all things that can be worked on and implemented later. A more unified art style, as well as proper shaders and lighting could also improve the graphics substantially. Metroidvania elements with the spell types to add an incentive for exploration could also introduce a sort of replayability when it comes to level design.
